Namentliche Verlustmeldungen - WASt?

I have a Namentliche Verlustmeldungen for January of 1945 for III./JG3.

I was given a copy of this by a researcher but no supplementary information as to the source.

Was this list from the WASt? or the BA-MA?

I am finalizing my footnotes for an upcoming book with the University of Oklahoma Press, and would like to obtain the proper source for this information.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks,

Bob Korkuc

It would be from WASt.

AFAIK there are no Namentliche Verlustmeldungen anywhere else (unfortunately!).

Hello Nick,

Well, we are fortunate that there are some at the BundesArchiv/Militärarchiv in Freiburg. Have seen there NVM of JG 53 and JG 54.

Cheers

Are they available to anyone who visits or are there privacy restrictions like those at WASt?

Re: Namentliche Verlustmeldungen - WASt?

Nick,

I saw these in 1999 and then there were no restrictions.

Any visitor could consult these - and all the data could be seen, as no parts of the NVM were covered.

Cheers
Rob

PS
I am not familiar with the current "restrictions" if there are any...
