3355.1 / 3116.5 Aluminum suitcase
Hello,
I am a new member to this post with an unusual find. My grandfather passed away and I found an aluminum suitcase in his garage. Numbers painted are: 3355.1 and 3116.5. My research shows these to be aluminum alloys. I have seen a picture from a FW 190 shot down over Normandy with 3116.5 on an inspection panel. However the "3" is different from the ones in my suitcase. What does the AWS or ASM stand for? Last edited by radioburningchrome; 23rd May 2007 at 19:11. Reason: condense material |
