Book Search?

Hi, im trying to locate a book i saw at an air fair, about 5 yrs ago.
If i remember rightly it was on the Midland Counties Publications stall.
I cant remember the title but it was about either American or Canadian WW2 fighter pilots, and described in detail their careers, and listed planes flown by them, giving in most cases squadron codes and serials. Think it was hard backed, and not anything like the Classic Colours series.

Any clues or pointers welcome.

Forgot to add, that a large proportion of the book features the period 1940-1941, and the Battle of Britain period.
I cant remember to be sure but i seem to think the combat ops were listed in logbook style, ie date, code, location, times etc.
