Avro Anson Mk IV

217 of the 750 Ansons built in the series range AW443 to AX656 were Mk IVs. The remaining 533 were Mk Is. Neither of the Air-Britain books 'Anson File' or 'RAF Aircraft Serials AA100 to AZ999' identify the serial numbers of the Mk IV aircraft. Does anybody have the serials of the 217 Mk IVs?

Thanks,

Neil

Re: Avro Anson Mk IV

According to Robertson's "British Military Aircraft Serials 1878-1987":

AW443-AX656 Avro 652A Anson 1/IV

533 Mk I and 217 MK IV built by Avro Newton Heath plant as follows (a scan was easier than typing it all out):

Re: Avro Anson Mk IV

Hi,

Have you looked on pages 147 to 153 of the Air Britain book Royal Air Force Aircraft AA100 to AZ999 ?

All the serial numbers for the Mk.IV's from AW443 to AX656 are there along with there RCAF, RAAF, SAAF, RNZAF matches in most cases.

I have checked the Anson File Hard back .

Page 74
AW443 to AW448 to RCAF 30.7.41 as 6774 to 6779.
AW449 to RCAF20.8.41 as 6876.
through to
page 80
AX655 to AX656 to RAAF 13.6.42.
