Smile B17 42-31212 shot down 5.1.1944

looking for details of b17 shot down over brittany 5.1.1944 by fw-190 i believe anyone know whot shot it down, or any other note son the plane, found some info on some of the crew but not all so far.

This aircraft came down at Kermoroux and the co-pilot, Ralph Patton, now heads up the USAF E&E Society. However, I cannot be certain who shot it down

B-17G-5-BO 42-31212.

331st Bomb Sqn., 94th Bomb Group.

Crew as follows:

Pilot - 1st Lt. Glen B. Johnson
Co-Pilot - 2nd Lt. Ralph K. Patton
Navigator - 2nd Lt. Milton L. Church Jr
Bombardier - 2nd Lt. Jack Mc Gough
Radio Op - T/Sgt. Kenneth O. Blye
Ball Turret - S/Sgt. James L. Stubblefield (KIA)
Engineer/Top Turret - T/Sgt. Ralph Hall
Tail Gunner - S/Sgt. Carlton V. Coleman (KIA)
Right Waist Gunner/Asst. Engineer - S/Sgt. Isadore C. Viola
Left Waist Gunner - S/Sgt. William A. Monson (KIA)

All other crew Returned To Duty (RTD). Aircraft hit by fighters and struck the ground near Mael-Carhaix, Cotes-du-Nord. Believed one chute failed to open and one chute caught on tail of aircraft leading to the loss of the two crew above. This taken from MACR.
