Motor plate

Hello,
Found this in a crash site.
Do have any meaning all these figures in this plate attached to an engine aluminium block?

You do not give any other details, but this is certainly German as evidenced by the BAL stamp in octagonal outline. (BAL= Bauaufsicht des Luftministerium which, roughly, is the Factory Supervisor for the Air Ministry. In other words, an inspectors stamp) It looks to me very much like the blank area on the top of the crankcase by the sump cover of, for example, the DB601 and is (usually) the space where the manufacturers data plate is fixed although I can see no evidence of the corner rivets. Some of the numbers could be an engine number. The letter "R" could represent "Rustort". What size is this item?

Hi!

The DB605 had this exact spot (like Andy pointed out with the DB601). However, on the DB605, they did not always attach a plate, and it was stamped in just like your is (I have one like this from a 605).

No clue what it is for though...hmmmmmmmm

Hello,
It came from a crashed He111-B1 so the engine must be DB600C, right?

Could be the figure 1253 in the plate the RLM code number for the block engine alloy?
According the RLM document:
'Fliegerwerkstoffe, handbuch für die Auswahl der im deutschen flugzeug, Flugmotoren und luftfahrtgerätebau zu verwendenden
Werkstoffe' in the chapter 1:
'Metallische Werkstoffe Herausgegeben vom Reichluftfahrtministerium Werkstoffabteilung.'
A range of number from 0000 to 9999 were given to designe every material dealing with the military forces, being the range
0000 to 3999 allocated for metals and all its alloys.
The number 1253 fall within this range.
The number 2045 at the end I'd say its the motor wnr.
Do anybody have a copy of the mentioned docs?
