B-24 & FW-190 collision 4 Oct 1943
The USAAF 44th Bomb Group lost B-24D 42-40989 (10 KIA) when a hit FW-190 struck the bomber over the North Sea, apparently off Koksijde (Coxyde), Belgium.
This was on 4 October 1943 when 44th BG flew a diversion mission. Identity and fate of crew of B-24 is known, but who can add details about the FW-190? Regards, Leendert |

Hallo Leendert ,
You will probably will have this info , it seems that it was a yellow nosed FW-190 who lost a wing and then hit the bomber. Regards Alain57 |
