There were actually a few....
Obst Gunther Specht had a bad left eye which was hit by shrapnel while attacking a Wellington bobmber on December 3,1939! He then left combat duties. He died in 2002 Oblt. Wilhelm Hoffman, JG-26, lost the ability to focus his right eye in a ground incident on October 1944 but continued to fly combat missions until being KIA on March 1945 All the above won the Knights Cross with the Luftwaffe. |

Re: One eye aces
Boris Kovzan, famous rammjager (4 ramms - Bf110, Ju88, Bf109, Bf109 - during WW II), lost his eye after 4th ramm attack, but continued to fly in PVO duties.
There were many pilots who flew without 1 leg, I know several pilots who flew fighters with amputated both legs. Viktor Petermann flew Me262 after he lost his hand with JG52.

Re: One eye aces
Inn WW I Edward Mannock was known as the RFC's one-eyed ace but there's uncertainty as to whether he was actually blind in one eye. The German Air Service apparently was less concerned about vision than the allies. Three aces who wore glasses were Bernert, Kissenberth, and Wintgens. I can say from experience that even without goggles, a tight fitting helmet permits you to keep glasses in place in an open cockpit, but a large windscreen definitely helps. The thing that I worried about was peripheral vision.
