Meaning of DFS glider code?

Hi

On eBay here there is a nice photo of the rear of a DFS 230 glider. The clear code is S1+B1-B24. Does anyone know what that means?

Ian

Re: Meaning of DFS glider code?

Hi Ian,
this style of code was used by Erg.Gr.(S) 1 on their gliders.

Norbert

Re: Meaning of DFS glider code?

Hi Norbert,
(that just felt I'm writing to myself) indeed they were in Langendiebach from April 1941 to sometime in 1942 and then went to Wertheim.

Regards,

Norbert

Re: Meaning of DFS glider code?

Norbert,

i'm getting used to day by day writing to myself. As long as i don't talk too long with my mirror, there's nothing to fear at least.

Just a joke - but thanks for Your info, which i do ernestly appreciate.
