Oblt Martin Vetter
Oblt Martin Vetter was awarded the DkiG with II/KG 51 in 1942 but is obviously not the same as Martin Vetter with KG 40. The former Vetter apparently went to III/KG 3 in late 1944-again, can anyone comment?

Re: Oblt Martin Vetter
Chris,
found Major Martin Vetter, 1. Januar 1945, Kommandeur of II./KG 51 at http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...wader/KG51.htm Could not find another one with same name and as DKiG-holder. y/f Norbert

Re: Oblt Martin Vetter
This is the problem. I have him as Gr Kdr of III/KG 3 from Feb 44 to Sep 44; III/KG 3 then becomes I/KG 53 to 6 Feb 45. Some records say he was Gr Kdr of II/KG 51 which became III/KG 3 in early 1944 but this does not match. He was with 4/KG 51 at some stage in late 1943-early 1944

Re: Oblt Martin Vetter
Thanks Doug. I think I have solved my problem with this chap in that a record has him with 4/KG 51 when it should have been Hptm Werner Duero. Doesn't help that there was apparently an Uffz Vetter in 4/KG 51
