Lt. Walter Schneller and Uffz.Gössl 4.(Jabo)/SG5

I'm looking info about two 14.(Jabo)/JG5 and later 4.(Jabo)/SG5 pilots in far north theatre of Luftwaffe. In north-Norway and north-Finland operated in earlier mentioned units two pilots; Uffz. Hans-Kurt Gössl and Lt. Walter Schneller. I would like to see any photos concerning their Focke-Wulf fighters and would like to know their tactial numbers/markings +camo.
Especially those aircraft with that they lost in 21.3.1944 during attack/recon mission to Murmansk railway in heavy snow storm.
The unit name changed to 4.(Jabo)/SG5 about a month earlier. Later they both were flying in Gefechtsverband Kuhlmey in southern-Finland summer of 1944. Schnellers Focke-Wulf Fw190 were marked as "Black 6" in that unit.

Here are a group photo of 14.(Jabo)/JG 5 pilots in 1943. There are also both Uffz. Gössl and Lt. Schneller.

Hello,

you should know that Erik Mombeeck published several years ago a very detailed chronicle on JG 5 in 4 big and very well-illustrated (photos, first-hand accounts...) volumes. The first one was dedicated to the Zerstörer and Jabo –staffel. I checked, there are several photos of these pilots. Apparently Erik interviewed Schneller.

Hope this help

Phil

PS: By the way, even if my main topic is the USAAF, I consider Erik’s chronicles as the top of the top. I am probably not the only one on this board.

Here is link about memorial statue of Gefechtsverband Kuhlmey in Utti Finland. Also Shneller is special guest among other Kuhlmey veterans in 1994 when the statue was presented:

(last third of the web page)

Local German newspaper from year 2008, where Schneller is interviewed (turn page 7/18)

Here are couple of photos about Gefechtsverband Kuhlmey pilots and planes in Immola Finland summer of 1944. "Black 6"-coded Fw-190F-8 is Walter Schneller personal plane on that time;
