crashlanding in the village of DRIESLINTER (Belgium)

Hello ,
I am looking for some information about the crashlanding of a large German airplane which crashlanded in the village of Drieslinter (region of St-Trond Belgium).
According to a whitness, it happened in the 'winter 1942/1943 or 1943/1944. Several crewmembers were wounded and the leg of one of them had to be amputated at the crashplace: this crewmember was stuck in the wreck and the mayor of the village (Van Nieuwenhuyzen Jozef) helped him out of the plane. No one was killed.
I am well aware that is is not easy tot resolve my request, but it is the only information that I have.

I've noticed an earlier post on 12 O'clock, about a HE 177 A-3 which got shot down on 25/2/1944:

Does somebody has more information about the crashsite of this HE177 or was there another German warplane that crashed in the same village?
Many thanks and best regards to all

Re: crashlanding in the village of DRIESLINTER (Belgium)

The Loss Return shows the crash site of this He177 as 12km North/West of St.Trond with four 'heavily' injured crewmen taken to a hospital at Loewen, Belgium. The actual description of the injuries to each crewman has been crossed out, but that of the pilot Ofw.Scholz has a longer description than the other three,

Hello Brian,
Thank you very much for your detailed information.
I regret that the injuries of each crewmember has been crossed out, but I understand why the mayor of the village helped out one of the crewmembers: the pilot must have had major injuries, I suppose.
If any has moredetails about the exact crashplace, I'dd be very pleased.
Bye bye from Belgium
