Possible seaplane loss
A decrypted message in HW5/419 it is mentioned from the Hafenkapitän in Imperia that on 7. January 1944 a passing He 115 was shot down by enemy (aircraft?) at 10:15 between San Lorenzo and San Stefano. One body was salvaged.
I have never heard of a He 115 loss in the Med. around this time. It is possible that the type was mixed with that of several Fiat RS.14 floatplanes transferred from Italy to France at this time, but I have not recorded any loss of such aircraft on this date. Can anyone provide further information ? |

Re: Possible seaplane loss
I seen that, we could think to a Fokker or an italian seaplane ...
