Re: Col Beirne Lay Jr 487 BG
Dear Alain,
He was the co-pilot of 41-29468 B24H ' Peg-O-My Heart '. The entire crew bailed out of the plane which had been damaged by flak. The plane crashed at Bretoncelles in France. 7 crewmembers became pow and 4 evaded capture. The E & E for Lt Col Beirne Lay Jr. is E & E 939. Interested in a copy of Macr 4750 ? You can access his E & E report on the National Archives II website fairly easily. It's free, just have to surf through the site to get set up.
