Uffz Ludewig, III/JG 26

I have just obtained a photo showing the burning wreckage of an aircraft on the back of which is written 'Near Dunkirk, Uffz Ludewig, June 1940'. According to Don Caldwell (and others), Lt Wolfgang Ludewig of 9/JG 26 shot down a Potez 63 on 13 June 1940 whilst a photo taken at Caffiers in Aug 40 which was given to me by Lt Josef Bürschgens of 7/JG 26 shows him with a pilot which he has named as Uffz Ludewig. Any thoughts?

Re: Uffz Ludewig, III/JG 26

This is the same Ludewig I suppose:

10 May: 9./JG26 Messerschmitt Bf109E-1 (3462). Shot down by flak over Ypenburg and belly-landed in dunes near Ockenburg 4.21 p.m. Leutnant Wolfgang Ludewig unhurt. Aircraft Yellow 6 + I a write-off.
Lt Ludewig was taken up by the German airborne forces at Ockenburg, and stayed with them while they escaped towards Schiebroek near Rotterdam until the end of the fighting on May 15.

Regards, Pieter

Pieter
This is the problem. Bürschgens identified the man as Uffz Ludewig
