The last victory of Marseille on 26.09.42?

I wonder, who was the last victim of Hans Marseille on 26.09.42, his name?

It was a Spitfire from 145 or 601 Squadron RAF. His oponent was a very good flyer, fought very tought and long.

No British losses have been found that can be linked to this afternoon combat, in which he claimed 3 Spitfires. Flt. Sgt Barker of 145 Sq claimed one Bf109 damaged in this combat.

In the morning he also claimed three Spitfires: British losses were one Hurricane of 213 Sq and two Spitfires of 92 Sq.

Thanks, it is strange? He had returned from this mission very exhauted, and told that his oponent was killed in the combat and he was very smart/excelent pilot. His enemy oiloted the "Spitfire"?

Quite strange situation?

regards,
mw

Marseille actaully claimed 1 P-40 and 3 Spitfires in the morning of 26.09.42, Oblt Joseph Schlang of 3/JG 27 also claimed 1 Spitfire in the same morning.

His last victory was at 17:10, a Spitfire.

These in the morning were not yet the last one.
