PZL P.11 Luftwaffe in Photo Album

Hello,

Currently on ebay is a photo album at:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Fotoalbum-15...oAAOSwwjhfnCkH

which has two photos of aPZL P.11 in Luftwaffe markings. There is also a Ju W 34 with Stkz PV+H* Does the latter allow the possibility of determining which unit operated the PZL P.11?

Regards,

Clint

Re: PZL P.11 Luftwaffe in Photo Album

Hi Clint
The Polish aircraft is a PZL P.7.
The two Ju W34s are different a/c. The 1st part of PV+?? is only visible. The other W34 has ??+HI. The two Stkz do not marry up. Perhaps a clue to the Unit's identity is the Ar66C - CK+JQ which belonged to Sch.FAR 21 at Deblin. This unit operated at least 1 PZL P.7. At present the question of whether a PZL 11 is in German markings is still open. As far as I can tell only the P.7 has been photographed

Re: PZL P.11 Luftwaffe in Photo Album

Thanks Tom,

I suppose with the Warschau caption to the aircraft in the link that Deblin is a fairly good probability for the location and so the aircraft shown being the Sch.FAR 21 aircraft you mention. I take it no Stkz is given for that machine?

Clint

Re: PZL P.11 Luftwaffe in Photo Album

Hi,

At least 1 P.11 was painted and used by a German recon squadron in September 1939.

Regards

Robert

At present I cannot find any connection with PV+?? to Sch./FAR 21 but there is a connection in the Album to Deblin-Irena dated 01.06.40 with 2 young pilots

Re: PZL P.11 Luftwaffe in Photo Album

Hi, I picked up these from old very old e-bay, the one with the white spinner was reportedly a PZL.7a and the other as a PZL.11c (based on what can be seen of the undercarriage and Rudder but I'm not so certain).
regards

On the old LEMB, there are photos of Polish aircraft in German markings but no fuselage codes. In any case, a PZL P.7a is identified as being with FFS AB 2, and a PZL P.11c with FAR 21.

Re: PZL P.11 Luftwaffe in Photo Album

Thanks Kaiyan and Ed - The photos I have seen before and still not convinced of a P.11c. The shape of the rudder and u/c are still those of a P.7a.
Ed - can you confirm the possible source for FFS(A/B)2 (new to me) and I only have the P.7a as with FAR 21. Thanks

According to Carslsen & Meyer, FFS A2 came from FAR.21, but A2 was no longer in Poland when established.
