JG26 losses 13th May 1940
On the 13th May 1940 JG26 lost 4 aircraft over the Netherlands:-
Gefr Gunther Langner of 1/JG26 Killed Uffz Hermann Speck of 1/JG26 Killed Fw Max Frank of 1/JG26 Wounded Lt Karl Borris of 5/JG26 Wounded Does anybody know which of these aircraft was recovered within the last few years at Slageterr Hoeven Netherlands(spelling may be incorect)? Any information gratefully received Many thanks Trevor |

Trevor,
I believe this may be your man: 1./JG26 Messerschmitt Bf109E-1. Shot down by Moranes of GC III/3 in combat north of Breda and crashed by the pumping station on the Oude Dijk near Hoeven 10.40 a.m. Possibly one of those attacked by Sgt Le Nigen. Uffz. H. Speck killed. Aircraft a write-off. |
