39th FS P-38F

[Pathfinder]

I'm embarking on a new project to depict a P-38 from the 39th FS, 35th FG in approx. mid-summer 1943. The type in question will be an F model, I think.

Can anyone tell me any external differences to look out for between the E, F,G and H models?

Also, I have collected quite an amount of ref material, but if anyone else can furnish me with more info on this outfit and its '38s, it's all useful and appreciated.
