Anti-shipping ability
Hi
I'm looking for any information concerning the anti-shipping abilities of LW squadrons during the proposed invasion of Britian in September 1940. Some sources have suggested to me that 2 LW Geschwader of He111's were trained for such missions. Any information or links would be appreaciated Regards

Suggest you get my book 'Sea Eagles' which, with Thiele's book on torpedo ops, answer your questions.

There was also a certain fighter-bomber unit that proved itself quite nifty in attacking shipping, that might have deployed part of their force against shipping in the event of an invasion in September 1940 (another part would have gone after the National Grid).
