Did he achieve any of his final victories with this, or any Ju 88? I had thought that he had all of his victories with Me 110's. Best, markr |

				Ju 88 W.Nr. 751081

Ju 88 R-2 W.Nr. 751081 was assigned to Obstlt. Lent NJG 3 in June 1944 after installation of Flensburg. It apparently had previously served with NJG 2 as 4R+ OK. Sorry, I have no record of whether he had any victories while flying this a/c, however, note that it had been assigned to him in mid summer, so there were several months when he could have flown it in combat.

So Werk # 751081 was an R-2, and not a G-6? Many thanks! markr |

Re: Helmut Lent and Ju 88G-6 "D5+AA"

			Hi there,

Lent's last operational flight in an Me 110 was on the night of 12/13 May 1944,at which time he had claimed 95 victories,87 at night. However he had apparently flown a Ju 88 in combat at least once before, on the night of 24/25 March 1944,coded D5+MT,when he claimed two four-engined aircraft. Lent's first operational flight in D5+AA was on the night of 21/22 May 1944,at which point it was his regular,if not only, aircraft. He achieved his 100th victory,92 at night, in D5+AA on the night of 15/16 June 1944 when he claimed three Lancasters. All this information from Peter Hinchliffe's book 'The Lent Papers'. Regards,Mark. |

I might be mistaken but I thought he'd flown a Do215B-5 for time in 1942.
