QU+PN fake or real

Dear Members

In the German magazin "Klassiker der Luftfahrt 1-2007
from Flug Revue is a drawing of a Me323 E-1 with QU+PN .I can't find it in Schiffers Me321/323 book.
I doubt if it is a real stammkennzeichen.

Hi Peter,

this could be real. There is a rather grainy print of an in-flight "Me 323 E-3" on page 37 of "Messerschmitt ME 321/323 Giants of the Luftwaffe", by H. Dabrowski. It appears to have the code QU+PD or QU+PO under the wings (I'd bet on the former). Your reference may be another in this sequence.

It doesn't give a skz, beginning with letter "Q".
Thats all reading-faults.
I have found Me 323 E-1 with skz DU + PA - DU + PO in my skz-list.
I think, that's what you search.

Whats the source of Your Me323 E-1 stkfz.
And are you sure about that the Q neverwas used.
I have seen a picture of a He219 A-7 in this book
"Warplanes of the Luftwaffe Combat aircraft of Hitlers luftwaffe 1939-1945" D.Donald Barness & Noble books
with reg. on the side QT+NY.
In the stkfz list I make for Peter Evans I have some 16
other stkfz also beginning with a Q.

The Stkz for the Me 323E-1 DU+PA to PO; W/Nr.130041 to 130055

Regarding the use of Q in the Stkz sequences is a mistake/typos/errors and for the He 219 a postwar addition to an original foto/painting of that a/c.(I think? I cannot get to my books at present but I have seen something very similar)

The letter O was used as a simplified use of the pre-war civil regs. I have many fotos of the use of E & O for early & mid 1940 and at least 1 as late as 1944

Can you give a list of your Qs and i will try and give you possible corrections or answers
