Don Gentile's P-47 ("Donny boy") - info badly needed
Hello,
I'm looking for a reliable info, color profile or photo of Don Gentile's P-47 dubbed "Donny Boy". I'm specifically interested in the colors of the personal emblem, the famous eagle wearing boxing gloves - what was the color of the background? I've seen it oddly bright-bluish but have doubts about it. Tx in advance |

The color photos from WWII show the eagle on a yellow disk including Gentile's. See this link.

Thank you - Ed, this is the odd bluish I referred to. I'd suspect the eagle emblem on Gentile's P-47 was the same or very similar to the one painted on 'Shangri-La' but I'm just not sure.
