World War II Pilots Group
The following link is to a site that has been intermittently offline for several months, but now thankfully is back and stronger that ever. Its a group of outstanding characters who saw service during WWII. Warm and friendly, the photo's of various individuals 'then and now' is poignant. They also possess a very dry sense of humour, as evident in their 'Club Rules" namely:
"Our Group is informal...so there are only two rules: 1. You must have been an Allied or Axis pilot (like USMC Corsair pilot Drury McCall above or USAF pilot Jim Eade, right ) during World War II and show up to lunch once in awhile. 2. If you die at lunch, you get kicked out of the organization." http://www.worldwar2pilots.net/ That generation really does deserve to be remembered for the quiet heroes they were.
