Re: Photos Caudron Aircraft
Hello,
Currently on ebay there is a photo of a Caudron G.3 at: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/DN191-Photog...wAAOSwnQ5eo87H Is this a G.3 R1 Rouler or does the lower wing just appear abbreviated because of the perspective? Regards, Clint |

Re: Photos Caudron Aircraft
Hello
If you look at the engine, it’s seems to be a 10 cylinder Anzani radial (100 HP), a lot too powerful for a Rouleur, usually fitted with a 45 HP Anzani. The happy guy in front has a shining observer badge, so the photo could be taken at a school. Regards Jean Schreiber |

Re: Photos Caudron Aircraft
This is the problem we've had before, French "3"s and "5"s; this is Nieuport N.1539 (the serials are also on the wing tips) you can see the difference here between them. The Caudron looks like C.3531 to me.
I posted a couple of close-ups showing the numbers some time ago but can't find them. Regards Nick http://www.airwar.ru/image/idop/fww1.../nieup17-5.jpg |

Nick
Another friend of mine also thinks the SFA number is C3531 so you do have a point.... Cheers Stig |

Re: Photos Caudron Aircraft
Out of curiousity I looked at the photo without being swayed by previous answers.
I also think it reads C3531. |
