Friction in 485 Squadron?
I am reading Owen Hardy's "From Spitfires to Vampires...". It's a great read, not least because he gives his opinions on a number of fellow pilots well-known to historians. He was posted to 485 Squadron in early 1944 but was not happy because the squadron "had a reputation for vendettas and and personal intrigues". He goes on to write that most of those "with a chip on their shoulder" had been transferred out by April 1944. There are a number of books about 485 squadron but I had not read of this atmosphere. Can anyone shed light on what he means?
