Sgt Jessop 261 Sqn 1941

Some records state that F J Jessop was shot down by 7./JG 26 on 7 Mar 41 and baled out; others say E R Jessop-can anyone say which is the correct Jessop?

Re: Sgt Jessop 261 Sqn 1941

Hi Chris,

I have Squadron Leader Charles Whittingham's (261 Squadron) medals.
I have checked my notes from research I did years ago when I first bought the group.
In amongst those notes I have the name Sergeant F J Jessop, sadly I have noted nothing re the source.
Sorry that I cant offer anything more conclusive.
Gerry

Re: Sgt Jessop 261 Sqn 1941

This is as a result of my questioning as E R Jessop did not arrive in Malta until early April 1941 and could not have been shot down 7 Mar 41
