Hi Michal,
Please see:

albeit, it does not answer your precise question.

Hello SES,

yes, that one was the basis for my question.
The listing of II/NJG101 aircraft in that great website stops at Jul44.
I'm trying to find out the date when Johann Krause transitioned from Do217 to Ju88. Do you know something about this issue ?

I wish you a good start into a splendid weekend,

Michael

Re: main aircraft of II/NJG101 Aug/Nov44

According to the NVMs II/NJG 101 lost in Aug - Nov 1944 the following:
1 ea Ju 88 G-1
5 ea Do 217 N
1 ea Bf 109 G-6

That might lead to a conclusion that Do 217 was at least the most used or unfortunate aircraft.

I have the last flights with Do 217 aircraft within this unit in early November 1944. Since June 1944 there were some Ju 88C and G models in the inventory, their number increased with time and from November they were only flying Ju 88G models.

Hello Matti & Merlin,

yes, Krause is supposed to have scored his last kill with the Ju88.
Can you give me the dates for the losses you mentioned ?

Cheers,

Michael

Hello Matti & Co,

thanks for your answer, which is of great help !

Can you tell me if page 53 of Jerry Scutts' "German Night Fighter Aces of World War 2" (OSPREY Aircraft of the Aces vol.20) really shows 28-victory-ace Johann Krause as indicated or rather NJG10 pilot Fritz Krause ?

Have a nice Saturday,

Michael

Dear Erich,

I was expecting something like this - shame on OSPREY !
So does a real photo of Johann Krause exist ?

Have a nice evening,

Michael
