Hi Alain
I think it's excellent but then I'm possibly biased! I can sell you a signed copy if you are interested. Cheers Brian |

Re: Fighters over the aegean
Thoroughly recommend. Excellent detail of operations. Ideal to read with Churchill's Folly regarding the late 1943 Dodecanse campaign. Actually more in the book than that. Also details the aerial side of the strangulation of German supply efforts to their occupied islands.

Re: Fighters over the aegean
Same here! I found it quite enjoyable & detailed. Amazing how decisive the JG27 contingent was in the Aegean. I had been to Rhodes & Kos several times, as a young (and rather drunkenly dissolute & debauched) man & I never bothered to look for the mementos of The War. I get the impression my family's side of Greece (Corfu & surrounding islands) seems to have been a bit 'overlooked' by history, although my folks tell me there was the wreckage of an 'unknown Axis aircraft' on display somewhere on the island. |

Re: Fighters over the aegean
the Aegean, one of my favourite holiday destinations, won't get to Skiathos this year and I'm depressed as heck about that. Just to say that I'm also currently reading it, certainly passes the time on the train! I've gone straight to the German accounts in the Appendices which unfortunately don't appear to be referenced and why are the actual combats in these accounts edited out? Good read though, especially like the chapter on Ju 86 R operations, was preparing a piece for my blog on these, beaten to it..

Re: Fighters over the aegean
Hello Brian,
I have just finished the book, it's very exciting and complete on a little known theater of operations, i recommend it. What of your projects: The first of the few , Maryland over Malta... ? Thanks Alain |

Re: Fighters over the aegean
Hello Brian
Page 209 & 210 of your book you write about anti-communist operations in Crete in november/december 1944 : "german tanks and mountain artiellery supporting the British in these operations" Do you mean an agreement between British and German against the communists ? Thank you very much Alain |
