Early Wellington crash 1939
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me. Im researching a crash that took place on 21st July 1939. It involved a Wellington Mk1, and was in fact only the second recorded crash of this Mark. It impacted violently at Milbourne Port in Dorset and all three crew were killed. I have the following details Wellington code L4290, from No 148 Squadron. Crew P/O Wilson, P/O Barton and A/C Lowery. I was wondering if anyone has the first names of the crew and any other details. This Wellington was recently excavated finding an engine and twisted propeller blades amongst other things. In addition I was wondering if anyone may have any details as to crew relatives or photographs showing these individuals.
Cheers all Jules |
