George C Duncan VF-15 and the Marines

I have returned to George Duncan and once again am looking for the sort of obscure information this forum excels in. He had a brother Jock Stuart Duncan (b.20 October 1920) who registered for the draft on February 15, 1942. He met with George on Saipan in 1944 according to his brothers recollection. I assume this was late in 1944 (after VF-15 tour had ended). That would tend to put him with the 2nd or 4th Marine Division. I know it's not aviation related but.... can anyone find details of Jock's service in the USMC?

The newspaper The News Tribune from Tacoma, Washington State, writes in its Sept. 3, 1944 issue that Lt.Cdr. Duncan had "recently" visited his brother Jock at Saipan. Sgt. Jock Duncan "had participated in the campaign which captured the island".

Same newspaper has his obituary in the May 25, 1972 issue.

One thing confuses me. His first born son. According to most accounts (including his interview) this happened in February 1944. GCD married before the USA entered the war and we'd assume biologically that first born would arrive in mid-1942 if another child appeared in February 1944. However the eldest child is named in his father's obituary as George jr. who is still alive in the 1980s and living in Virginia, but the son born in 1944 is Alfred Tawresey Duncan who later served in the USN. Confusion? A family fight? Intriguing. It's got nothing to do with Duncan as a navy flier but mysteries are fun. Alfred seems to have had a solid if unremarkable career in the USN.
