Re: Photo Morane Saulnier
Hi Stig,
Thanks for the ID. On the subject of the MS.35, do you have a copy of Icare's Les Rois du Parasol? If so there's a follow up question I have about impressments on P.127. Regards, Clint |

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier
Sorry Clint
I have very few Icare. They take up such a huge volume of space and contain so much useless pages that I decided a long time ago to drop them. By now space is a very premium issue at my place.... Cheers Stig |

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier
Hello,
Currently on ebay a photo of a Morane Saulnier LA at : https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Jagd-Fl...gAAOSwdIVecfvx Stig provides the following info: Well I suppose it is a type LA and the unit is deff MS 31 (the Greek Archer symbol) It was actually made into a Sanke card already during WW 1. As is almost the case the correct SFA number is blanked out by the flag on the fin, but since it is a very early photo (1915?) I would guess it is MS 90-99. I don't believe they kept the LA production going all the way to 900.... Thanks Stig. Regards, Clint |

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier
Hi,
# 5 : This a/c is the Morane Parasol n°937 of N31 lost on 10 july 1917. MdL C. Gauthier and Sdt A. Denis were POW. At this time N31 just arrived at the A/F of Coudekerque-Branche (Dunkerque). French Air Service War Chronology 1914-1918 by Bailey/Cony gives that they have been shot down by Vfw G. Strasser of JAsta 17 posted at Ghistelle (OStende, Belgique). Bertrand |
