german dagger unit markings
Hi can any one help identifying two unit markings I have on two German air force daggers which I have had in my collection for a number of years.
The first I think could be unit of airfield issue markings this are on a eickhorn long 1st pattern flyers dagger: marked on both the cross guard and top mount of the scabbard is St Fea 37/15 there are also the small luft type acceptance stamps, to show this was a issue dagger not privately purchased The other marking is on a second pattern officers dagger marked on the top side of the cross guard is some form of unit device poss from a german sea plane unit????? this is a stylized eagle head and wings the centre of the body is a naval type anchor, the top forms the eagle head and eye the wings come from the sides of the anchor. so a winged anchor! If any one needs pics I will gladly post them Many thanks for your time James |
