193 Squadron CO

Hi,

Anyone know the full name of Sqn Ldr D G Ross, who was posted to command 193 Squadron in February 1944?

Alex

Re: 193 Squadron CO

Hi Alex,
One of my other research areas ( 193Sq ).
W/C Baker was posted to harrowbeer as wing commander. ( 193 & 266 ) in Jan 44.
Apparently from memories I was told ..
Shortly after there were a few 'postings'
193Sq CO left on the 10th Feb, Ross took over on 11th or 12th of Feb 44, ( his first mention in the ORB is the 12th ).
Cheers
Jerry

Hi Tony, Jerry

Thanks for the details. I didn't know he was a casualty, hence my reason for not checking the CWGC first.

Tony,

I plead ignorance. What is the CWGC site?

Re: 193 Squadron CO

Hi Tom,

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is an organisation that commemorates all the Commonwealth forces that gave their lives in the two world wars.
