Hello

Fenrik Knut Bachke was flying Spitfire IX BS466 when 331 SQN up from North Weald was escorting B-17 to bomb Lorient in France. Fw 190 attacked and the Norwegian Squadron was involved in air combat and claimed 2-0-1 appx. 13:00, without loss. Their enemy was probably from Jagdgruppe III./JG 2 or perhaps other elements from JG2. However I do not know their loss against the Norwegians. However 17th May is Norways Indeopendence Day and this led to much celebratings later in the evening.

Hi Jerry,

Bache was flying Spitfire (BS466; M)

Combat took place 10 miles N. of Guernsey so FW 190 probably belonged to JG 2.
