Thank you Brian
Got the information from Fighters over Tunisia and wanted to update a file. Priens JG53 history does not mention this incident and their is a brief mention in Caldwells JG 26 War Diary. Regards David |

Hi David,
there is information in Jochen`s JFV Part 8/1 about lost of one Ju 52, which was shot down over the M.Sea. The 11/JG26 lost 14 of its ground crews. The date of this accident is placed around 24.11.42. Regards Robert |

Robert
Fighters over Tunisia has the date as the 13-11-42 and Caldwells JG 26 War Diary does not mention this loss until the 15-11-42, so its possible it was reported late. Regards David |

Yes,
but you should remember that 11/JG26 moved on the 24.11 to Tunis. Regards Robert |

Re: Ju52's and SM81's lost 13-11-42, one from JG53?
The claim that JG 53 Stab lost a Ju-52 on page 51 of Fighters over Tunisia is puzzling. The JG 53 history (Prien, p. 587 - English language version) states that they lost an He-111 to Beaufighters on 27 November, with the pilot - Obfw Rolf Peitzsch and seven ground personnel on board. No mention of a Ju-52 lost at all.
