Curtis SO3C Seamew
I am trying to match this plane to a specific battle in the Pacific. From what I can tell, they were used between 1942-44 but I also read that they were not well received and pulled from front-line service by 1943?
So far, I have seen a picture of one that was used on the U.S.S. Biloxi. Also, what squadrons numbers were they assigned to? Thank you. Michael |

Re: Curtis SO3C Seamew
Michael
The Seamew was not exactly a love child with the USN and USMC Checking the Fantail fighters by Jerry Scutts he lists the following ships having the SO3C in WW 2 North Carolina (BB-55) Alaska (CB-1) Boston (CA-69) Cleveland (CL-55) Montpelier (CL-57) Denver (CL-58) Oklahoma City (CL-91) There are a lot of vessels where he is uncertain about their equipment. Biloxi (CL-80) is one of them and he only lists it with Vought Kingfishers Cheers Stig |

Re: Curtis SO3C Seamew
Michael,
If you open this link you may find more Seamews: http://www.history.navy.mil/a-record...-ac/loc-ac.htm However, records seem not to say what individual ships had them. Just open a date and with the search tool you'll get around. Regards, Leendert |
