Spitfire PRIV R7038 1st PRU 16 September 1942
Hello to all
Who was the pilot of the Spitfire PR IV R7038 1st PRU loss the 16/9/1942 over northern germany ? What happened to him? Regards Phil |

Phil,
It seems that R7038 was one of the dozen or so Spitfires that could be captured by the Luftwaffe after these aircraft had made a forced landing in occupied territory. Apparently used in a special test group called "Zirkus Rosarius". Perhaps the LW-forum knows more about this? It is therefore possible that the pilot of R7038 was made POW, assuming the aircraft still fairly was in one piece. Sorry, I have no name. Regards, Leendert |

According to the ORB R7038 was flown by P/O Barraclough on its last sortie.

According to the ORB R7038 was flown by P/O Barraclough on its last sortie.
