Ju52/3m pre-W.W.II ventral gunner - bomb aimer

G'day all,
I am trying to track down information of crew members of the Ju52/3m bombers as used in Germany, Austria and the Condor Legion as specialist bombers. I've managed to find lots of snippets, but little solid data, and I'd be delighted to track down any first-hand accounts by crew members.

Any information welcome, but answers to the following questions in particular would be appreciated:

1. What type of bomb sight was used? I have conflicting info.

2. What other instruments were there in the dustbin? Altimeter and ASI I presume. I understand the bomb-aimer also had a small joystick to control the aircraft on run in.

3. The chap in the ventral dustbin was the gunner and bomb-aimer. I have accounts (Nowarra) suggesting that person was also the aircraft / sortie commander? That sems odd to me, but I am not familiar with the Luftwaffe organisation of the time

4. How many transport Ju52/3ms were used for the Moroccan airlift for Franco? Sources vary between twenty and forty.

5. Were any of these airlift aircraft bombers, or were they pure transports?

6. Was it German Ju52s which bombed the Republican Cruiser Jaime I, or Italian aircraft? I have conflicting reports.

Thanks in advance,

Yours
