Mosquito or Beaufighter?

The night of August 31 - '44, an allied airplane is down next to Savona.
Some researchers have recovered some pieces:

"RAF Bomb Connection Socket, 5D/525. 'AM' and KC marked"

the friend Becchi, has helped us writing:
Mosquito e Beaufighter
23 squadron
255 squadron
256 squadron
600 squadron
39 squadron
272 squadron

From these photos, do you have some info on the type of aircraft?

In advance I thank you

Ciao

Fabio

Re: Mosquito or Beaufighter?

Thank to Fabio for his post, he's as ever a quick guy!

I have found two losses in the same squadron on that night, was they in the same plane? they was Pilot Officer WILLIAM HENRY BILLING and W/O Flight Sergeant H THORNTON, both 272 squadron and both two died on 31th august 1944. Anyone can help? Thanks!

Sorry friends, made a big mistake. Ignore my latest entry; I reacted before with serial NT907 which is the correct serial. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards,
Henk.

Re: Mosquito or Beaufighter?

I found a claim against a Mosquito that day:
Miscellaneous Claims:
30.08.44 Fw. Siegfried Seffler 7./JG 4 Mosquito £ - - Film C. 2025/I Anerk: Nr.*
* This entry is a written note.
However, we can not find out WHERE and a time for this claim...
Yours
Adriano
PS: I do have been following with great interest this thread. Good to see that Archeology and History aspect being discussed again here..

Re: Mosquito or Beaufighter?

NO Micky!
The claim was submitted by 7th Staffel of Jagdgeschwader 4, which flew Fw 190s.
JG 7 flew Me 262 and other propellen aircraft by the end of the war ( September 1944 - onwards ).
Yours...
