Re: Fate of following Luftwaffe pillots
The following may be of interest
Kurt Rochel ZG26 POW 02.09.1940 additional Spanish War claims 18.5.1938 Uffz. Kurt Rochel 2.J/88 I-16 10.6.1938 Uffz. Kurt Rochel 2.J/88 I-16 There is a Dietrich Von Bothmer shown on the following site http://www.dictionaryofarthistorians.org/bothmerd.htm don’t think it’s the same person A Willi Meyer gets a mention on the following sites http://www.luchtoorlog.be/ju88cd_f2.htm ; http://www.campemoor.de/Geschichte/geschi_flug.html (in German) http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=7886 shows a Willi Meyer with 12 claims http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=74 Unterscharfuhrer Willy Meyer http://www.cieldegloire.com/zg_026.php 27.05.40 Hurricane http://jpgleize.club.fr/aces/ww2ger.htm This site shows a Willi Meyer with 1 SCW claim and 10 WW2 claims with JG77 http://www.greystonesahs.org/web/j411 This site in part show the following “Following this meal, Goertz met another former internee, Luftwaffe officer George Fleischmann, in Dun Laoghaire's Royal Marine Hotel, where they spent the entire night discussing this offer and what it entailed with Fleischmann encouraging Goertz to accept it. Fleischmann was an Austrian who, along with two other Austrians, had been granted political asylum by de Valera following their request to remain in the country on the grounds that if returned to Austria they might be charged with treason because they had considered themselves Germans. But Goertz suspected that he was being double crossed and that he would be deported back to Germany and spent the next few days in the West of Ireland trying to calm down his nerves.” Don't know if same Fleischmann as SCW Still looking at other names Kind regards Ross Last edited by RossGmann; 18th May 2008 at 13:47. Re: Fate of following Luftwaffe pillots
Thx a lot!
About Rochel - yes, I missed 2 claims of him. Was he shot down by RAF fighters? Quote:
I think Meyer is a very common last name in Germany (as a Muller). Is he the same person with SCW pilot?
