There's a photo on page 181 of Luftwaffe Colours: Stuka Vol.2 - Luftwaffe Ju87 dive-bomber units 1942-1945 (Classic Colours) by Peter C Smith showing a Junkers Ju87D-5 with a very similar, if not identical, container under each underwing bomb rack, complete with caps fitted. The caption states they were 'universal containers'. In answer to your other question, yes, the exhaust outlets on the machne in your selection were covered with flame dampers. Regards...

The Ju 87 veterans I've talked to said that it was a container used to carry baggage when they transferred to a new base.

Fw 190 occasion http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350061134143 The pilot looks female to me. Right?? Can it be Hanna Reitsch? She flew many Luftwaffe aircraft types as a test pilot. Seems to be some type of celebration occasion. Ar 196 http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180243682792 I suppose this is an Arado 196, 6W+KN, from 5./BFGR. 196 Br Goran

Some lovely photos and look books - thanks again Ed. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=290230848355 This is an interesting Ju88 - seems to be a 'standard' Ju88 - no 'Shrank musik'. seems a high scoring pilot/Unit. Does anyone know any more - Assume B4? - KG54?/NJG3? - A for Adolf - Staffelkäpitain possibly? From my head - no reference - away from home. Anyone know any more? regards Mark
