information about F/L Peacock - 610 / 85 squadron - 1940

Hi,
I would like to find information and documents about the following pilot Killed in the town of Arras (France) in may 1940 :

Name: PEACOCK, MICHAEL FITZWILLIAM Initials: M F Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Flight Lieutenant (Pilot) Regiment/Service: Royal Air Force Unit Text: 601 Sqdn. Age: 28 Date of Death: 20/05/1940 Service No: 90124 Awards: D F C
would love to find a photo of him.

From Fighter Command Losses - Franks

20 May 1940
85 Squadron
Hurricane I L2141
S/L. M F. Peacock DFC +
Ground attack. Shot down by flak along Arras road.


S/L. Peacock had been in action the day before, 19 May 1940.

85 Squadron
Hurricane I P2551
Baled out after combat with He111s of 6/KG4 near Seclin 1630 hrs.

Hi,

Michael Peacock had served with 601 Squadron and I think got his DFC for his part in the Borkum raid while with 601. He was transferred to take over as C/O of 85 Squadron replacing S/Ldr Oliver on 18th May 1940.
