Does anyone have a mention of an Oblt Lorenz being lost with KGr 606/I/KG 77 some time in 1942?

All I could find was a mention in 'K' 367/1942 ( 3Z+BL shot down 9-11-42) which identifies a Hpt. Lorenz as a St/kap of 1/KG77.

That would be him-I wonder if it was Hptm Herbert Lorenz?

We have a ton of Lorenz's.

As for Herbert Lorenz we have:

LORENZ, Herbert. (DOB: 17.05.06). 01.04.42 promo to Maj.
LORENZ, Herbert. 01.03.42 promo to Hptm.(Tr.O.). 27.04.42 Hptm., awarded Ehrenpokal. 16/17.06.44 Hptm. in 1./NJG 2, KIA – shot down or crashed into the sea east of Cancale on the north coast of Brittany.

Neither seems to be your man.
A search of the Lorenz's reveals none apparently associated with KGr. 606 or KG 77.

Chris, only an info,
in end of 1941 Gruppe 606 was still under the Fliegerfuehrer Atlantik, Oberstleutnant Harltinghausen but subordinated to Luftflotte 3 under the command of General Sperrle. The Staffelkapitaen of 1/606 was an Oberleutnant Lorenz.

Thanks Manfred. I have this already and Lorenz is mentioned again in 1942 as being St Kap and Hptm. BTW, it is Martin Harlinghausen-there are a number of mistakes in this series of books as the information is taken from the interrogation reports of the time and the author wanted to keep it as accurate to what was said during the war
