Hans Müller, captured North Africa, ca. May 1943

Bit of a longshot, perhaps, but I'm hoping someone may be able to identify and share the details of the capture of a Luftwaffe Ace by the name of Hans Müller, who was shot down in North Africa (Algeria? Tunisia?) in ca. April-May 1943, and escorted back to the UK for interrogation per Dakota 28-29 May 1943. Apparently, two Wehrmacht Generals were escorted aboard the same flight, and their identity would also be appreciated, if known, please.

Thanks
Steve

I have searched our database and can find no Hans M üller that was a fighter ace (or any other kind of ace!). I tried variations on the name but apparently there's no one that fits your criteria.

Sorry!

Thanks Doug.

Bother... Is there any other Müller (sans Hans) that fits the criteria? I have the name from the RAF escort officer on that flight.

Thanks
Steve

Probably this one
Lt. Hans Moller ,Staffelkapitan 1./JG-53, was shot down on March 25,1943 while strafing. He was captured. One report has three Bf-109 strafing near Beja and one was hit in the engine by a Bofors shell, catching fire. The pilot baled out from 500 ft. Listed with 15 victories.

Khaki is correct

According to Shores it seems the British for a while thought they had captured Karl-Friedrich Müller. Instead it was the already mentioned Hans Möller. If we add the teutonic two dots over the o the mistake is even more understandable. The British, to this day I might add, have no idea how to pronounce anything with rings and dots on top....

Cheers
Stig
