30/31 March 44 NJG kill

I am looking for information of German Night Fighter victories which occured on the night of 30/31 March 1944.

In particular it was a Lancaster of 103 Squadron shot down in the area of Nurnberg/Fulda. The aircraft was piloted by PO J.R.R Tate.

Many thanks

Jeremy

Have you read Martin Middlebrook's "The Nuremburg Raid"?

Thanks Nick,

I am familiar with that book, as of yesterday that is, sounds like I should get my hands on a copy.

Cheers

Re: 30/31 March 44 NJG kill

Anyone else have information as to the NJG operating on that evening?

Actually it looks like I may be able to pin it down off of Tony Woods claims.

Jeremy,

If the Lancaster of 103 Squadron you are enquiring about is JB736, Theo Boiten in Nachtjagd War Diaries states that this was possibly the claim at 00.31 for a 4-mot by Oblt Walter Prues of 7./NJG 1. The claim location is given as "N. Limburg/Lahn: 5.900 m."

Regards,
Tom
