10th August 1944 Crash

I wondered if anyone could help me with some information.
I am trying to write a small book about the men from my village that were killed in the two world wars and I have discovered that one of the men was serving with the 6th airborne reconnaissance regiment when he was killed.
He was killed on the 10th August 1944 at 22.45 at Ouistreham when an enemy aircraft crashed on the house where he was resting.
I wondered if it is possible to identify anything about this aircraft and crew and possibly if it was a victim of RAF nightfighters.
Thankyou.
Ian.
