Hudson 206 Squadron 15/8/40

Hi guys

According to various sources, Hudson 'V' of 206 Squadron engaged and shot down a He59 on 15 August 1940.

On checking the ORB I could only find a combat for Hudson 'E' (N7367) skippered by a Plt Off Bird, who engaged in an inconclusive combat with a He115.

Are these one and the same with obvious inaccuracies? Or did I miss something?

Cheers
Brian

E/206 engaged a He 115 in YZMF 4500 at 0600 hrs. V/206 shot down a He 59 in NLUB 2400 at 2253 hrs-have a look at my book for the report!

Hi Chris

Yes, I've checked your book! So who was the pilot of V/206? I couldn't find anything in the ORB.

Cheers
Brian
PS Are you home?

ORB was imprescise from what I remember. Somewhere I have my notes on this but do not have the time to look for them as I am home for the next 3 hours and then off again, back home for good 8 Dec

If you would like to take my place on my operational tour, please say as it is by no means a 6 month holiday
