Hi guys

Did 4(J)/LG2 (or any other unit) suffer the loss of a Bf109 in combat on 3 July 1940?

Cheers
Brian

Re: Bf109 shot down 3 July 1940?

Hi again Brian,

Actually, 2./JG54 sufferd a loss at 05.20 hrs that morning. A Bf 109E-4 was shot down by Hudson P5143 of 206 Squadron and crashed near the village of Assendelft, between IJmuiden and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Unfortunately code, Wnr and name of the pilot (who bailed out) unknown.
Perhaps someone has these lacking info on file?

Is this the one you're looking for, Brian?

Best wishes,
Hans Nauta

Hi Remi and Hans

Thanks for your responses, much appreciated.

Was there a Bf109 loss in combat on 4 July? Possibly 4(J)/LG2? Possibly I have the date recorded incorrectly!

Cheers
Brian
