Bf 109E shot down on 21 Oct. 1940 near Calais

I have a photo that shows the mangled wreck of a Bf 109E, said to be shot down at Les Attaques, near Calais, on 21 Oct. 1940.
In the Luftwaffe loss list I have access to no '109 is listed as lost on that particular day.
Does anyone have any details on this incident?

Thanks,

I have a reference to a Bf109E (5804) from 3/LG2 that crashed landed at Calais on 20 October.

Happy New Year,
chuck

Only a Fw58B-2 loss on that day in "Les Pertes de la Chasse De Jour Allemande en France, Vol 1 Sept'39 - Dec'40" [Avions, Hors Series No.10] Dénes... Plenty of Bf109E losses either side of that date though... any markings visible at all?

Cheers

No markings visible at all. It's only the twisted metal what's left of the Emil.

Hi again Dénes...

To confirm the loss mentioned in Chuck's post #2, along with a second loss the day before also at Calais... both from the same source as my previous post:

Bf109E-7, WNr.5804 - 75% loss - 3./LG2 - Ofw.Erwin Clausen - combat avec Spitfire NO d'Ashford, atterrissage force; Calais
Bf109E-7, WNr.6350 - 50% loss - 3./LG2 - Ofhr.Hans-Joachim Marseille - combat avec Spitfire, atterrissage force: Calais

Certainly sounds from your description that the loss was more than 70%...

Cheers
